Montessori Writing Album: Unit 3 Fiction Stories
Step-by-step lessons to grow strong writers in the Lower Elementary (1st-3rd grade) classroom. Unit 3 includes three weeks of instruction for a Writing Workshop group (2 lessons per week) and a Shared Writing group (1 lesson per week) focused on applying the Writing Cycle to the process of writing fiction stories. This comprehensive unit plan includes scripted lessons, sample writing pieces, rubrics, and handouts. Montessori For All will publish one unit per month for the entire 2024-25 school year. Other units include research reports, letters, persuasive writing, plays, etc.
Unit 3 deepens work with the Writing Cycle through narrative fiction stories. Children choose which type of fiction story to write (e.g., fantasy, realistic, historical, etc.) and how to share their book with the world. They will be highly engaged while learning foundational writing skills. This unit includes scripted lessons for Writing Workshop lessons (~2nd and 3rd graders) and Shared Writing lessons (~1st graders), as well as rubrics, handouts, etc. It can be adapted for use with 4th-6th graders.
The Writing Workshop and Shared Writing lessons are bound in a single book and mailed directly to you via USPS.
