Unit 8 serves as the culminating unit for the year. Children select their own genre and their own particular writing piece, based on everything they've learned and experienced throughout the year. Children will be highly engaged while learning foundational writing skills. This unit includes scripted lessons for Writing Workshop lessons (~2nd and 3rd graders) and Shared Writing lessons (~1st graders), as well as rubrics, handouts, etc.
